Bicycles at the train stations may remain in the same spot for a maximum of 2 consecutive weeks. For the rest of the city, the maximum is 4 weeks. At the Waagstalling, bicycles may also remain in the same spot for a maximum of 2 weeks.

Around Leiden Central, the rule ‘Bike removed’ applies: bicycles must be in the rack or parking facility, otherwise they will be removed.

In the city center, pop-up bicycle parking facilities can be found on Saturdays: temporary racks that are removed again at 6:00 PM.

Sufficient and good bicycle racks encourage the use of bicycles and ensure enough space for pedestrians. Are (additional) bicycle racks in your street a good solution? Request installation from the municipality. More information can be found on the webpage Requesting a bicycle rack (in Dutch).

Parking in the free bicycle racks is at your own risk. Bicycles may be parked for a maximum of two consecutive weeks. See also the terms and conditions for public bicycle parking of the municipality of Leiden.
