Make an appointment online to request a driving licence.

Conditions

  • You have been issued a driving licence and are competent to drive.
  • You must be aged 16 or older to qualify for a moped licence.
  • You must be aged 17 or older to qualify for a Category B driving licence and you must have a supervisor card.
  • For all other driving licences, you must be aged 18 or over.

To submit a request

Make an appointment and come along to the municipality offices to:

  • renew your driving licence
  • replace your driving licence if it is damaged or illegible
  • replace your driving licence if you have lost it
  • exchange a foreign or military driving licence

Take the following documents with you

When applying for your driving licence, take the following documents with you:

  • your identity document
  • 1 recent colour passport photograph that complies with the passport photograph requirements.
  • your old driving licence, if you want to extend it or want to expand the categories

  • Extra costs in urgent cases: € 39,65

Has your driving licence been stolen? If so, report it to the police and take the official report with you to your appointment. Then you don’t have to pay the extra costs that apply when you lose your driving licence.

Pick-up appointment

After you have been to the counter, you will receive a confirmation email. The email contains a link to make a pick-up appointment. Have you not done this? Then do this anyway! PLEASE NOTE: you cannot collect your driving license at the counter earlier than 5 working days after the application.

Make a pick-up appointment

Take the collection slip that you received when you applied for your driving license with you. Also take your old driver’s license with you. Don’t you have one? Then take a valid ID with you.

Do you need a driving licence quickly? Then submit an urgent request. If you apply for the driving licence before 3 p.m., you can pick it up after 10 a.m. the next day. However, you will need to pay extra costs for this service. If you no longer have your old driving licence, the urgency procedure is not always possible.

You must be medically fit in order to drive a vehicle for which a driving licence is mandatory. For more information, go to the RDW website (Rijksdienst van Wegverkeer). You can also apply for the various health certificates on the RDW website. For example, the Statement of Health (Eigen Verklaring) for people over 75 years of age or the Certificate of Fitness (Verklaring van Geschiktheid).
