Extract non-resident (RNI)

Are you in the Netherlands for less than 4 months? Or do you live abroad and still have contact with the Dutch government? Then you are registered as a non-resident (RNI) with the municipality of Leiden. You can request an extract of your registration.

You can apply for the RNI extract in various ways:

  • at the counter of the municipality of Leiden, or at one of the other 18 Dutch municipalities.
  • by mail/contact form (Note! If you request the extract by mail, it can only be sent to your foreign address).
  • by someone else through authorization.

To the counter

You want to personally pick up the RNI extract at the municipality of Leiden.

First, make an appointment for your visit.

Bring to the appointment

  • A passport or ID card (not a driver’s license).

Cost

€ 16,60. You will receive the extract immediately.

You want to request the RNI extract for someone else. This is only possible with written permission (authorisation) from the person for whom you are requesting the RNI extract. And you can only pick up the extract at the counter of the municipality.

For an appointment, call: 14 071. Then visit the municipal counter.

Take the following documents with you

  • the completed and signed authorization form (pdf, 49 kb) (in Dutch)
  • copy of a valid passport or ID card (not a driver’s license) of the person for whom you are requesting an extract
  • own proof of identity (valid passport or ID card no driver’s license)
  • completed form extract RNI (pdf, 83 kb)

You will receive the extract immediately.

You can request the RNI extract by mail. Send the completed RNI extract form (pdf, 73 kb) to:

You can also scan the completed RNI extract form (pdf, 73 kb) and attach it to the contact form. With the contact form, include a scan of a valid passport or ID card!

Cost

€16.60. You will receive the invoice by mail. The extract will also be sent to you by mail.
